WordCamp Sacramento Tickets On Sale

WordCamp Sacramento Swag

Hey there from your WordCamp Sacramento 2015 organizing team! We are so excited to share with you that tickets are now on sale for Sacramento’s first WordCamp — a one day event completely centered around WordPress happening Saturday, November 7, 2015.

UPDATE: Tickets are going fast! We only have 30 left, averaging one ticket sale every 30 seconds for the first hour.

Tickets are only $20!

Now I know you may think that at that low of a price, the event must not be very good. But check this out. Included in your $20 ticket, you will receive:

  • Two full tracks of learning sessions, one beginner/user, and one advanced/developer, to choose from
  • Coffee and snacks (because we know you get hungry at times other than lunch)
  • Opportunities to network with other business owners, designers, developers, agency owners, and site owners
  • A fully catered lunch from Chipotle
  • Access to the WordCamp after party at the River City Saloon
  • A WordCamp Sacramento T-Shirt (choose men’s or fitted women’s sizes)
  • The awesome event stickers donated from StickerGiant
  • Opportunties to visit sponsor booths and learn more about tools and services that can help your business or improve your site
  • And more

Amazing right?! All that PLUS great content to help you improve your skills, site, and business for only $20.

Here’s what’s more amazing and how we can make this all work at such an affordable price: The sponsors who have stepped up to support WordCamp and our local WordPress community. We extend big hugs and gratitude to you all!

Also, we have a great lineup of speakers! Many speakers are from our local Sacramento area, some are coming up from the bay area, and some are flying in from out of town to present. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this event. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be featuring the speakers and their session on the blog so you can get to know them and get as excited as we are about the event.

WordCamps, including WordCamp Sacramento, are volunteer-run, community-organized, non-profit events. Which means your organizing team, day of volunteers, speakers, and sponsors are giving of their time, resources, and knowledge to make this a great event, help our community thrive, and support WordPress, the free and open source publishing software that powers over 75 million websites across the internet.

    • Dave — the best thing to do is to follow the WordCamp account on Twitter and/or like the Facebook page and be sure to turn on notifications from the page. If an attendee reaches out because they will no longer be using their ticket, we’ll share the opportunity through our social accounts.

        • Richard — Haha! If only :) The organizing team worked very hard to identify a location for more than a year before the Art Institute of California — Sacramento stepped up to donate their space for the event.

We reached out to other local colleges and educational institutions as many other WordCamps happen on college campuses with donated space. We also reached out to many alternative spaces that could accomodate a large number of people — but for a non-profit, volunteer-run event, that is completely funded by donations and sponsorships, most were not doable because they wanted to charge us astronomical rates. The amount of time I alone spent on the phone is mind-boggling — and again, remember we’re volunteering our time to make this happen because we love WordPress and want to see the local WordPress community thrive.

Maybe for WordCamp Sacramento 2016, you could step up and volunteer your time to secure a location? We would LOVE the help and we’re always looking for more awesome volunteers and community members to get involved — the more the merrier :)
